Closer they came, closer, and closer still, until the first man was perhaps six feet away from the nearest American prone on the ground, who switched the selector lever on his rifle from safe to semiautomatic, readying it to fire.Rivers flow into the sea, yet even the sea is not so full of me. If Im not blind why cant I see that a circle cant fit where a square should be. Theres a hole in my heart that can only be filled by you. And this hole in my heart cant be filled with the things I do. Hole hearted. The Shout Out Louds arent exactly a band known for crowd surfing and stage dives, but it seemed they approved of the activities at Friday nights U.S. tour closer at Los Angeles El Rey Theater.Alright! Stage dive! frontman Adam Olenius declared to the crowd a couple of songs after a fan had hopped up on stage to partake in the aforementioned debauchery. Olenius called the tour their best tour so far, and it has a lot to do with Freelance Whales, their New York City-based folk-pop openers. When Swedens Shout Out Louds first made their way across the pond with 2005s Howl Howl Gaff Gaff, their music was catchy garage pop that fit with the rest of the mid-aughties indie rock surge your Wolf Parades and Arcade Fires Five years later the Swedes have fine-tuned their garage rock into dreamy, New Wave gems that ring synonymous with the Cure, but with a lot more bells and whistles literally. |

Lima went 46-42 with the Astros between 1997-2001, and he was a 20-game winner and an All-Star with the Houston team. With the Dodgers in 2004 and 2005, Lima had a record of 13-5, with a 4.07 ERA. In the 2004 National League Division Series, Lima pitched a 5-hit shutout against the St. Louis Cardinals in front of a sell-out crowd at Dodger Stadium. It was the Dodgers first postseason win since Game 5 of the 1988 World Series. With runners at the corners in the ninth inning, Francisco Rodriguez struck out Alex Rodriguez on a full-count changeup to preserve a 6-4 victory for Johan Santana and the New York Mets against the New York Yankees on Sunday night. |

By the way, what charity do you contribute to?it would simply kill anyone here to ever admit that they might be wrong about anything, ever. theres a big difference between genuine altruistic selflessness and what bret michaels and michael j fox are engaged in, whether theyre helping others or not and if you cant see that, then you are a fucking idiot.most of you cant stop patting yourselves on the back regarding your intelligence, yet the level of debate here rarely gets above this is what i think and fuck you for disagreeing with me with a lot of standard social-pattern bullying thrown in for good measure. the only difference between this place and any other site on the net is the ever-so-thin veneer of sophistication in the writing of the posts. which is wholly illusory once one parses the content and realizes how utterly intractable and therefore foolish the poster really is. i cant even imagine what itd be like to get so genuinely angry at someone for disagreeing with me that id have to resort to ad-hominem attacks and name-calling. youre like a bunch of fucking children.my own language here is pretty inflammatory and insulting and i offer no apologies for that i posted a lousy opinion and got insulted for it, so i feel no compunction about responding in kind though i know wrestling with pigs is a lost cause win or lose, you still smell likefeel like shit afterwards. |

When Swedens Shout Out Louds first made their way across the pond with 2005s Howl Howl Gaff Gaff, their music was catchy garage pop that fit with the rest of the mid-aughties indie rock surge your Wolf Parades and Arcade Fires. Five years later the Swedes have fine-tuned their garage rock into dreamy, New Wave gems that ring synonymous with the Cure, but with a lot more bells and whistles literally.Forced to tour without their bassist, who was replaced by Henrik Jonzon of fellow Swedish indie rock act Nervous Nellie so he could go on paternity leave, the Shout Out Louds never let a song sound too much like the last. The crowd favorite Very Loud included a guest appearance by James Fearnley of the Pogues on accordion and Olenius inserted a little verse from the Notorious B.I.G. staple Going Back to Cali chorus fitting, considering the location. On the moodier Go Sadness, only Olenius and keyboardist Bebban Stenborg remained on stage, with the latter delivering breathy vocals that filled out the lo-fi ambiance of the Moog- and guitar-driven song. The band also sampled from their more recent album Work, playing The Candle Burned Out and Too Late, Too Slow. But it was the oldie The Comeback that Olenius dedicated to their L.A. pals at the show that evening. With the opening lyrics, Im kinda tired Because you wouldnt let me sleep last night, it made you think the Shout Out Louds have been enjoying Los Angeles as much as the frenzied crowd was enjoying their show.Ive got a new hat, Neil Young announced rather gleefully, if not with a note of self-satisfaction, at Friday nights sold-out show at the Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts in Worcester, Mass The folk rock veteran wore a very dapper Panama hat and his audience cheered in approval But Im not wearing it tonight, he quickly corrected Im very comfortable with the old one Ive got. |
